KATRINA OPEN ARMS FUND

Housing Opportunities Community Partners, Inc. and the Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC) partnered to implement an employment initiative program for Katrina evacuees, who were provided housing by HOC in Montgomery County, MD.

Two Career Planning workshops were given as well as individual resume development assistance. In addition to training, Community Partners, Inc. and HOC provided support in the form of bus tokens, gas cards, and metro cards. Funds for this program have been exhausted; however Community Partners, Inc. is currently seeking additional funds to serve this population.
