Holiday Giving

Annually, over 8000 county households are referred for holiday assistance through the Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project; a county-wide collaborative effort whose goal is to distribute donated holiday resources to needy families as equitably as possible. Households are referred by social workers, school counselors, non-profits, and HOC case managers. Each zip code is assigned a volunteer organization responsible for coordinating the distribution of holiday assistance to households in that area.

Approximately 20% of all the households referred are HOC residents and it is Community Partners' goal to solicit resources for as many of the HOC households as possible thereby helping the volunteer organizations serving each zip code area to reserve sufficient resources for other households they are assigned to serve.
